Sawyer Realty Group, established in 1995, currently provides limited real
estate appraisal consulting services for eminent domain and other property
matters.
Through our commitment, experience, and
expertise, Sawyer Realty Group has established good business relationships
with our clients over the years.
Since September 2001, Sawyer Realty Group, St.
Petersburg based in the TampaBay area, has been a part-time business specializing in real estate consulting for eminent
domain purposes. Our primary counties for real
estate consulting work are Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, and Polk. We have extensive
eminent domain experience involving takings for road widening.
While our services are currently limited to consulting, our past services
included complete appraisals, limited appraisals, and special
studies. Other past appraisal functions included the valuation of
commercial properties for litigation, buying and selling, bank financing,
ad valorem tax appeal, foreclosure, estates, and divorce. Our principal has
qualified as an expert witness appraiser to testify in Circuit and Federal
courts.
PRINCIPALS: Mark G. Sawyer, MAI, a Tampa native, has been a
real estate appraiser and consultant since 1972 and a business owner since
1984. He and Susan H. Sawyer were co-owners of the former Candler-Sawyer & Associates
from 1984 -1995 and established Sawyer Realty Group in October 1995; since
late 2001, it has been a part-time, limited-service business.Susan has over
30 years experience working as an appraiser, or assisting appraiser, in offices based in the Tampa Bay area.

employment includes PBS&J, Tampa, September
2001 - July 2006 for Mark and May 2002 - July 2006 for Susan. Since
August 2006, both had been employed by HDR Engineering, Inc., Tampa; Mark left HDR in November 2009 and is no longer available for any fee assignments.
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS: Mark is a Florida State-Certified General Real
Estate Appraiser (RZ74); Utah Certified General Appraiser (7169488-CG00); MAI member of the Appraisal Institute since
1984; and a Florida Licensed Real Estate Broker. Former memberships
include the Pinellas REALTOR® Organization and the International Right-of-Way Association. Susan is a State-Certified Residential
Real Estate Appraiser (RD149) and a Licensed Real Estate Broker.
EDUCATION for Mark includes University of Florida, Real Estate Major, BSBA, High
Honors, 1972, with election into honorary fraternities of Phi Kappa Phi and
Beta Gamma Sigma; postgraduate required courses, exams, and seminars.
CLIENTS served include law firms,
property owners, PinellasCounty, HillsboroughCounty, City of St. Petersburg and other municipalities,
Florida DOT, Florida DEP, and Florida Communities Trust, Florida Power
Corp., and various banks and businesses.
